Lovers Lane United Methodist Church Weekday School has been in operation since 1968. Since that time the school has offered Preschool, Kindergarten and Mother's Day Out, serving more than 377 children annually.
Linda Altick, Director of the Weekday School, assumed the directorship of the school in 1981. One year later she was joined by Carolyn Buckner, who currently serves as Assistant Director of the school. Together, this team has brought together a talented and dedicated staff and developed an early childhood education program that is highly regarded and sought citywide.
In recognition and appreciation of the Weekday School's successful ministry and educational impact in the community, the fall 1997 session of the Church's Administrative Board approved the extension of the school into elementary grades.
Fall 1998 marked the entrance of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church's Weekday School into elementary education.
With the addition of a new gymnasium, library and computer lab in 2001, the school will grow to include primer through sixth grade.
